Planning Commission Minutes for 9/15/04
The regular meeting of the New London Township Planning Commission opened at 7 p.m. Present were: Margaret Healy, secretary; Robert Barto; Frank McBerty; Gerard Porter; and Jack Weber.
Work Session
In the absence of the chairman and vice-chairman, Mr. Porter conducted the meeting.
Mr. Barto reported the resignation of Frank Piorko from the Planning Commission due to an increased workload at his place of employment. Mr. Piorko had also been chairing the Open Space Committee and also resigned from this position.
Mr. Piorko’s open tasks with the Planning Commission were working on acquiring grants for park purchases and writing a proposed Lighting Ordinance. It is hoped that someone on the Open Space Committee will also work on grant proposals. There was discussion as to who might take over the Lighting Ordinance but any decision was tabled.
Regular Meeting
The work session adjourned and the regular meeting commenced with the same members present.
Minutes
On a motion by Mr. Barto and seconded by Mr. McBerty, the
minutes of the 8/18/04 meeting were approved.
Mr. Weber abstained, as he had been absent from the meeting. All others voted in favor.
McDowell Subdivision
Laura Swiski of Lake Roeder Hillard & Associates was present to discuss a preliminary subdivision plan for the Eugene and Elizabeth L. McDowell property at the intersection of West Avondale and Kelton-Pennock’s Bridge roads. Equitable owner is B.K. Campbell, Inc.
The proposal calls for splitting 10.3 acres into a five-lot subdivision using lot averaging. Plans call for public water and on-site sewer systems.
The plan shows four lots of approximately 1.25 acres on a cul-de-sac, with the remaining lot being 3.67 acres with a separate entrance. Both entrances are on West Avondale Road. Planning Commission members indicated a preference for having all lots use one entrance or for the entrance for the individual lot being on Kelton-Pennock’s Bridge road.
A site visit is scheduled for Thursday, September 30, at 6 p.m.
Adjournment
On a motion by Mr. McBerty, seconded by Mr. Weber, and approved unanimously, the meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
